A "free" video player that actually requires an up-front fee? El Media still uses Flash Player at its core? Not a chance.
Get ffWorks instead. It is by far the best solution out there, it only costs $22 (there's no ?@!#*^&? subscription), it'll play any file you throw at it, it's chock full of features, and the developers are extremely responsive.

Well, that's annoying. They've deleted my comment. To recap, they've removed the ability to download vids with version 8.
They have also removed this from the What's New list above since my original post.
Changed: Video download option is no longer available.
So, a community service announcement; video downloads has been removed from version 8. It appears they're attempting to hide that fact.

Adobe Flash is the single most dangerous 'professional' piece of software on any computer platform, specifically because of its consistently important and critical security holes, some of which have been exploited in-the-wild. This is one reason Adobe is discontinuing Flash as of January 1, 2020. Adobe itself always recommends that Flash users remain up-to-date with the latest version of their Flash plugin. IMHO it is IRRESPONSIBLE for any software program to include the Adobe Flash plugin without keeping it immediately up-to-date. That is blatantly NOT the case with Elmedia Video Player. As such, I'm giving it ½ star. It deserves zero.
